Libby Ricardo
Libby is thrilled to join the ensemble with Lean, having previously appeared in Ripcord, Cry it Out, The Underpants, If You Forget Me and The Thanksgiving Play. For Lean she also directed Around the World in 80 Days and Art. Other South Carolina credits include Inherit the Wind with the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Shakespeare Rep, and Irena’s Vow with Centre Stage. Favorite credits include Viola in Twelfth Night, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and Rosaura in Life is a Dream.
Libby holds a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and an MFA in Performance from the University of Georgia. Outside of her collegiate training, Libby has studied acting on three continents, including a stint at the Bali Conservatory in Indonesia.
Libby is an Assistant Professor of Acting and Directing in the Department of English, Theater, and Liberal Studies at the University of South Carolina at Beaufort. Her emphasis in her teaching and research is the promotion of theater skills as life skills, including extensive work with simulated patient programs.
Libby lives in Bluffton with her husband, George, and their precocious sons, Marlowe Barrett, & Garrick.
