The Taming

Tweetering and undying giddiness for James Madison -- what else could you expect to find at a Miss America pageant? In this raucous, "power-play" contestant Katherine has political aspirations to match her beauty pageant ambitions. All she needs to revolutionize the American government is the help of one ultra-conservative senator's aide on the cusp of a career breakthrough, and one bleeding-heart liberal blogger who will do anything for her cause. Well, that and a semi-historically-accurate ether trip. Here's lookin' at you, America.

Ripcord
by David Lindsay-Abaire
Directed by Chip Egan
A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, so when the cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship. Comedic and heart-warming all at the same time, this play is a home run on aging, strange friendships, and the lifelong struggle of satisfaction versus disappointment.
